During the afternoon of July 7th, 2021, Long Island Rail Road "Extra 401 East" crosses the Shinnecock Canal Bridge in Hampton Bays, NY with DE30AC 401 leading Amtrak's 10002 "Corridor Clipper" Track Geometry car. The train performed a round trip geometry inspection between Long Island City & Jamaica via the Main Line and Jamaica & Montauk via the Montauk Line to gather track data for potential Amtrak service in the future.
